CTV Drives Incrementality for Chime

Overview

To unlock growth beyond search and social, Chime partnered with FeedMob to run on exclusive, performance-based Samsung CTV inventory. The objective was to validate whether high-impact CTV placements could drive net-new enrollments at scale. The result: sustained conversion quality, rapid channel growth, and Samsung emerging as a top-performing acquisition channel.

Approach

FeedMob activated Samsung Smart TV home screen placements—the first ad users see when turning on their TV—to introduce Chime to millions of high-intent viewers. This premium inventory is not available programmatically and is exclusively accessible through FeedMob’s direct partnership with Samsung.

Performance was measured using FeedMob’s server-side pixel to isolate enrollment activity tied to Samsung CTV exposure, allowing for clean, independent attribution across acquisition channels.

Results

Samsung CTV scaled efficiently while maintaining conversion quality as volume increased, outperforming five established acquisition channels with no evidence of cannibalization. Core performance metrics remained stable throughout scale, and incremental impact was independently validated through FeedMob’s server-side pixel attribution. Overall, CTV became a top 5 acquisition channel for their media mix. The results speak for themselves:

  • The campaign maintained a stable 5% conversion rate while scaling volume 5.4x
  • Samsung CTV’s channel share increased 6.7x over the course of 1.5 months
  • CTV outperformed five established marketing channels
